  • Chong Zhao completed his PhD defense on "Analysis and Design of Transient-Error-Tolerant Nanometer Circuits and Systems". He will be joining Marvell Semiconductor after graduation.

  • FALL 2007: MESDAT lab welcomes a visiting professor and two new graduate students. Professor Wenan Zhou is an Assistant Professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Vanessa Wallis Evans comes from UT Austin with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Shaoxuan Wang comes from Beijing University with a MS in Electrical Engineering.


  • Chong Zhao wins the Best Paper Award at the International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design 2006 for his paper on "Improving Transient Error Tolerance of Digital VLSI Circuits Using RObustness COmpiler".

  • Krishna Sekar completed his PhD defense on "Dynamic Platform Management for Configurable Platform-Based System-On-Chips". He will be joining Broadcom after graduation.

  • Dong-Gi Lee completed his PhD defense on "Configurable Image Shaping Algorithms and Architectures for Wireless Multimedia Communication". He will be joining Samsung in Seoul, Korea after graduation.

  • Clark Taylor completed his PhD defense on "Adaptive Image and Video Data Shaping Algorithms and Architectures for Ubiquitous Wireless Communications". He will be joining the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Brigham Young University after graduation.

  • Yi Zhao completed his PhD defense on "Modeling and Testing for on-chip Defect-Sensitive Noises for Deep-submicron Circuits and Chip Systems". He will be joining Cadence Design Systems after graduation.

  • Dong Gi Lee was awarded the Best Poster Award in UCSD's 2004 Jacobs School of Engineering Research Review, titled "SiQua: Server-Aware Image Quality Management for Wireless Image Data Services".
