Alex Postlmayr is a PhD student in the Bioengineering Department at the University of California, San Diego. He is currently working on the On-Demand Virtual Physical Therapy project. He is a NSF GRFP Fellow, and his research interests span across Machine Learning, Smart Connected Health, and 3D Human Pose Estimation.
He obtained his B.S.E. in Computer Engineering from Oakland University in Oakland County, Michigan. There he co-authored an embedded machine learning algorithm for smart & fast tracking of features for Atomic Force Microscopes. His other research efforts included 3D nanoprinting and fabricating implantable neural electrodes. During his studies, he had a research internship at BMW Group in Steyr, Austria, and work experience as a Software Engineer at Connexin Software.
