Biography:
Ali Mirtar received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in the field of Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2006 and 2008 respectively. He joined Mobile Systems Design Laboratory at University of California, San Diego, USA in 2009 to pursue his PhD degree in the field of Computer Engineering under supervision of Professor Sujit Dey. After series of short term collaborations with communications companies such as Mindspeed, Qualcomm and Broadcom, CA, from 2009 to 2012, he joined Broadcom's Mobile and Wireless Group in 2012 as a Systems Designer focusing on next generation cellphone's power and thermal optimization. Currently he is working full-time at Broadcom and completed his PhD degree in 2015 at UCSD.
He has been a member of IEEE and has judged the second and third IEEEXtreme Programing Contests in 2008 and 2009. He won IEEE MGA Achievement Award as one of the judges in Third IEEEXtreme Programming Contest. He has published several conference and journal papers and holds two patents in Iran and United States.
